Scent: Refreshing natural blend of tea tree and mint.
I like: the cool feel and natural uplifting smell of the shave cream. The thick cream provides protection against nicks.
Not a fan of: nothing. You can’t go wrong with this natural shave cream.
Giovanni’s Invigorating Tea Tree & Mint Moisturizing Shave Cream impressed me right off the bat with its naturally refreshing tingle. The thick cream does not lather, but it offers effective protection against nicks and cuts. The natural combination of peppermint, eucalyptus, and tea tree creates a wonderfully uplifting scent to help wake you up in the morning. Nourishing ingredients including argan oil, rosehip oil, and shea butter help to moisturize while you shave. Overall, Giovanni’s Invigorating Tea Tree & Mint Moisturizing Shave Cream is one of the better natural shave creams I have tried. At under ten dollars, this uplifting shave cream is a great value I wouldn’t hesitate repurchasing.

Price: $$ ($10-$20) – Available at Amazon.
Scent: fragrance-free, though the oil does have a faint, naturally occurring nutty smell.
I like: the lightness of the oil. Absorbs easily. Versatile – can be used on skin and hair.
Not a fan of: the clear bottle. Wished it was colored to protect the oil from light.
Asian cultures have incorporated camellia oil into their beauty routines for centuries. The oil is known to be a light, versatile moisturizer for skin, hair, and scalp. During a recent trip to Japan, I picked up a bottle of Oshima Tsubaki Camellia Oil to find out what all the fuss was about. Though it is commonly marketed as a hair oil, I’ve grown to enjoy using camellia oil on my skin in the morning as an aftershave and at night before going to bed. Camellia oil is heavier than argan oil, but light enough for people with dry skin to use on the face. The oil has a very faint, naturally occurring nutty smell that quickly dissipates after application. Oshima Tsubaki Camellia Oil comes in a unique, traditional-looking clear glass bottle that dispenses a few drops at a time.

Price: $$ ($10-$20) for a half-ounce bottle – Available at Sephora and Josie Maran.
Scent: fragrance-free.
I like: how incredibly light and nourishing this moisturizer is on the skin. Absorbs easily.
Not a fan of: the high price tag.
An increasing number of people are using argan oil as a natural skin moisturizer, and for good reason. It’s a light, natural oil that’s incredibly nourishing. The oil works well as a daily moisturizer. I use it once in the morning and once at night before going to bed. I’ve tried various brands of argan oil and Josie Maran’s Pure Argan Oil ranks highly in terms of quality and effectiveness. It doesn’t have a funny smell and the dropper makes it easy to apply. All it takes is 2-3 drops per application and you’re good to go for the day. I’ll sometimes use a little more in dry weather conditions. Josie Maran Cosmetics Argan Oil is a bit expensive, but the quality is exceptional. A half-ounce bottle should last approximately one month.
Alba Botanica Hawaiian Papaya Mango Body Cream Ingredients List
Overall Rating: ★★★★☆
Price: $$ ($10-$20) – Available at Drugtore.com and Amazon.com.
Scent: strong “tropical” fragrance
I Like: how light the cream is. Effective at moisturizing and sinks in quickly.
Not a fan of: the strong synthetic tropical scent.
Alba Botanica’s Hawaiian Papaya Mango Body Cream is more like a lotion than a body butter. Because the product came in a tub, I expected a thicker, heavier consistency. The cream is not rich, but it is effective at moisturizing. The product sinks very quickly into the skin. I used it on all parts of my body, except for the face. Some notable ingredients in the cream include shea butter, mango, cucumber, kukui oil, macadamia oil, and rosehip seed oil. The only aspect of the product I didn’t enjoy was the strong synthetic “tropical” fragrance.
Apricot Kernel Oil is an effective, all-natural way to regulate your skin’s oil production. High in essential fatty acids and vitamins A, C, and E, this light oil is ideal for oily and normal skin types. Apricot Kernel Oil also works well on mature skin, especially on the areas around the eyes and throat, because of its tightening and astringent properties. When purchasing natural beauty oils, be sure they are cold- or expeller-pressed. I also recommend buying natural beauty oils that come in amber-colored bottles. The colored bottles help protect the precious oils from light, thus maintaining the oil’s effectiveness.
Every Man Jack Age Defying Eye Cream Ingredients List
Overall Rating: ★★★★☆
Price: $ (under $10) – Available at Every Man Jack and Drugstore.com.
Scent: no noticeable fragrance.
I Like: how the product effectively reduces puffiness around the eyes. Convenient packaging with a pump dispenser.
Not a fan of: how long it can take to notice lessening dark circles.
As I get older, I’m noticing more fine lines and puffiness around my eyes. Thankfully, Every Man Jack recently released their Age Defying Eye Cream for those of us battling tired-looking eyes – not all of us can successfully pull off the puffy-eyed, constantly stoned look like Johnny Depp and still look like a million bucks. At just under ten dollars, Every Man Jack’s Age Defying Eye Cream is a reasonably priced, effective moisturizer that works well at reducing the appearance of fine lines and puffiness. The area around my eyes felt firmer and refreshed immediately after applying the product. The cream is light, non-greasy, and absorbs easily into the skin. I haven’t noticed a big decrease in dark circles, but I expect that to change with regular use.
