Overall Rating: ★★★★
Price: $$ ($10-$20) – Available at Baxter of California, Beauty.com, and Barneys New York.
Scent: mild blend of mint and tea tree.
I Like: the subtle, refreshing mint and tea tree scent.
Not a fan of: the SLS and methylparaben.

Baxter of California’s Daily Protein Shampoo is a minty smelling hair wash that invigorates the senses.  The shampoo comes in a nice-looking opaque blue bottle with a convenient pump dispenser.  The refreshing scent is a mild blend of mint and tea tree – perfect for those mornings when you need an extra boost to help wake you up.  The shampoo produces a noticeable amount of lather and cleans hair very well, which makes the product better suited for those with oily hair.  Guys with fine hair may want to limit usage of this shampoo to 2-3 times a week.  Splurge on Baxter of California’s Daily Protein Shampoo if you have oily hair and some extra cash.

King Of Shaves Alphagel Shave Gel Sensitive Skin Ingredients List

Overall Rating: ★★★★☆
Price: $ (under $10) – Available at TargetRemington, and King of Shaves Direct.
Scent: Cool blend of tea tree oil, spearmint, and camphor.
I Like: the gel’s cooling effect.  It’s an excellent value.  Not animal tested.  Made in the UK.
Not a fan of: the sodium laureth sulfate.

Not long ago, I was still using shave gel in a can.  I thought the thick foam from canned shave gels and creams made for superior, less-irritating shaves.  I was wrong.  Most canned shaving products contain synthetic ingredients that can actually dry out and irritate sensitive skin.  For those of you with sensitive skin still searching for a reasonably priced shave gel in a tube, may I suggest trying King of Shaves Alphagel Shave Gel.  It contains aloe vera and tea tree oil to help soothe your skin.  The gel’s translucence eliminates the guesswork in shaving – you see exactly where your blade is touching your skin.  The energizing blend of spearmint and camphor cools and helps to wake you up in the morning.  It has a medicinal, but tolerable scent – I actually like it.  Try using this shave gel if you’re on a budget and have sensitive skin.
