Scent: subtle orange.
I like: how easily the oil absorbs into the skin. The liquid is non-greasy and leaves a satin feel.
Not a fan of: nothing. This is one of the better face serums available on the market that is actually worth the higher price.

Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate is a light, effective daily facial moisturizer worth its price. The liquid is vividly golden with a subtle orange scent. The consistency of the serum is very light and absorbs into the skin incredibly well, leaving a smooth satin finish. The directions instruct the user to massage 2-3 drops per application, but you might need more depending on your skin type. I use approximately five drops per application for my entire face as the weather in Southern California is consistently dry. One bottle (1 fl oz.) should last about one to two months. Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate is definitely worth the investment if you’re seeking a light, non-greasy nourishing daily face moisturizer.

I like: This is a mineral sunscreen.  Effective in preventing sunburn.  Stays on in water. Great for the entire family.
Not a fan of: the thick consistency, which makes it more difficult to apply and spread. In no way a deal-breaker considering this is a zinc oxide/titanium dioxide sunscreen.

If you’re looking for an effective, natural sunscreen for the entire family, Alba Botanica’s Very Emollient Mineral Sunscreen for Kids Broad Spectrum SPF 30 is an ideal product to start with.  I consistently used this mineral (zinc oxide/titanium dioxide) sunscreen with great results during a recent Hawaiian vacation. While the Alba Botanica sunscreen is thick and takes a little more effort to apply, it will prevent you from getting sunburned if used properly and often. The product is unscented and gentle enough to use on the entire family. I usually apply a natural moisturizer five minutes before using this sunscreen. This way, my skin is properly nourished and protected from the Sun’s damaging effects.

I like: the price, light consistency, lemony scent, and versatility.  Made with mostly natural ingredients.
Not a fan of: nothing.  This is a great moisturizer, especially for warm weather.

EO Everyone Lotion Coconut + Lemon effectively moisturizes the body and face.  The first thing I notice when using the lotion is the lovely lemony scent.  It’s what I imagine a freshly baked lemon custard and toasted coconut pie would smell like if grandma made it.  The smell is that good.  The light consistency of the lotion makes it easy to spread.  You can feel confident about using this product on your face as it absorbs easily and doesn’t leave a greasy residue.  Because the lotion is so light, you’ll want to reapply it throughout the day to keep your skin properly moisturized.  At under ten dollars for thirty-two fluid ounces, EO Everyone Lotion Coconut + Lemon is a must-try.

I like: the lightness of the oil.  Absorbs easily.  Versatile – can be used on skin and hair.
Not a fan of: the clear bottle.  Wished it was colored to protect the oil from light.

Asian cultures have incorporated camellia oil into their beauty routines for centuries.  The oil is known to be a light, versatile moisturizer for skin, hair, and scalp.  During a recent trip to Japan, I picked up a bottle of Oshima Tsubaki Camellia Oil to find out what all the fuss was about.  Though it is commonly marketed as a hair oil, I’ve grown to enjoy using camellia oil on my skin in the morning as an aftershave and at night before going to bed.  Camellia oil is heavier than argan oil, but light enough for people with dry skin to use on the face.  The oil has a very faint, naturally occurring nutty smell that quickly dissipates after application.  Oshima Tsubaki Camellia Oil comes in a unique, traditional-looking clear glass bottle that dispenses a few drops at a time.

I like: how incredibly light and nourishing this moisturizer is on the skin.  Absorbs easily.
Not a fan of: the high price tag.

An increasing number of people are using argan oil as a natural skin moisturizer, and for good reason.  It’s a light, natural oil that’s incredibly nourishing.  The oil works well as a daily moisturizer.  I use it once in the morning and once at night before going to bed.  I’ve tried various brands of argan oil and Josie Maran’s Pure Argan Oil ranks highly in terms of quality and effectiveness.  It doesn’t have a funny smell and the dropper makes it easy to apply.  All it takes is 2-3 drops per application and you’re good to go for the day.  I’ll sometimes use a little more in dry weather conditions.  Josie Maran Cosmetics Argan Oil is a bit expensive, but the quality is exceptional.  A half-ounce bottle should last approximately one month.
