Zirh Restore Herbal Eye Cream Ingredients List

Overall Rating: ★★★★
Price: $$$ ($20-$30) – Available at Zirh and Amazon.
Scent: nothing noticeable.
I Like: how this eye cream reduces puffiness.  Feels slightly cool upon application.
Not a fan of: the paraben preservatives.

A good eye cream is hard to find.  Many claim to reduce puffy eyes and dark circles, but few actually deliver on that promise.  Zirh’s Restore Herbal Eye Cream worked well at minimizing the appearance of my puffy eyes, but I didn’t notice a significant difference in my dark circles.  This product contains a number of skin-benefiting ingredients including extracts of cucumber, chamomile, calendula, aloe, and pine bark, as well as caffeine.  A one-ounce tube should last at least two months as you only need to apply just a little amount of the eye cream.  Use Zirh’s Restore Herbal Eye Cream any time you need to refresh the area around your eyes.

Zirh Erase Aftershave Relief Tonic Ingredients List

Overall Rating: ★★★★☆
Price: $$$$ ($30-$40) – Available at ZirhBeauty.com, Beautybar.com, and Amazon.
Scent: Subtle classic barbershop aftershave smell with a hint of citrus mixed in.
I Like: how the tonic soothes razor burn. Made from witch hazel, not alcohol. Pleasant masculine fragrance.
Not a fan of: the price. I’m accustomed to paying more for moisturizers, not toners.

Zirh’s Erase Aftershave Relief Tonic is one the few post-shave splashes I can recommend as it does not contain alcohol.  The calendula and chamomile ingredients are effective at soothing razor burn.  I’m not so sure about how well Zirh Erase works to treat razor bumps and ingrown hair.  It comes in a masculine-looking bottle – the dispenser has a small hole, which allows you to use the tonic sparingly.  One bottle should last you about 3-4 months with normal use.  This product does not moisturize so you’ll need to complement it with a face lotion.

Buy this product while you still can.  The Zirh brand is going away soon 😦

Zirh Body Bar Alpha Hydroxy Acid AHA Review Caulfields Counter male skincare mens grooming back acne

Zirh Body Bar - Smells fresh and helps clear body acne.

Zirh Body Bar Ingredients List Alpha Hydroxy Acid AHA Review Caulfields Counter male skincare mens grooming back acne

Zirh Body Bar Ingredients List

Overall Rating: ★★★★☆
Price: $$ ($10-$20) – Available at Amazon.
Scent: Fresh, cool, slightly citrusy.
I Like: how the alpha hydroxy acids help to keep body acne and breakouts at bay.  The refreshing fragrance.  This bar lasts longer than the usual drugstore-bought soaps – it doesn’t soften up in the shower.
I don’t like: how the soap can dry out the skin if used too often.

Zirh’s Body Bar is ideal for anyone who is battling acne of the back, chest, arms, neck, or buttocks.  That’s right – our bottoms are prone to occasional acne breakouts and ingrown hairs.  The soap’s alpha hydroxy acid content helps to clear the skin.  The bar smells fresh – citrusy with a hint of menthol.   I recommend using this soap as a compliment to your everyday soap or body wash.  If you use the Zirh Body Bar all the time, you run the risk of drying out your skin – something that could actually cause more breakouts.  At $15, this soap is on the pricey side.  However,
it holds up very well in the shower.  You don’t have to worry about the bar prematurely disintegrating.  If you’re regularly experiencing body breakouts, give the Zirh Body Bar a try.  Don’t forget to moisturize after every shower.  It will help keep your body from overproducing oils, which could lead to acne.  Please note: Use this bar soap on areas other than the face. Using the Zirh Body Bar on your face may result in dryness and irritation.

Update (9/21/11): I just found out that Procter & Gamble is killing off the Zirh brand.  More info can be found here and here.  I suggest stocking up now if you like their products.

Zirh Protect Daily Face Moisturizer Product Review Mens grooming male skincare face cream lotion Caulfields Counter

Zirh Protect Daily Face Moisturizer

Zirh Protect Daily Face Moisturizer Product Review Mens grooming male skincare face cream lotion Caulfields Counter Ingredients List

Zirh Protect Daily Face Moisturizer Ingredients List

Overall Rating: ★★★★☆
Price: $$$$ ($30-$40) – Available at Zirh.
Scent: Light citrus.
I Liked: how light the product felt.  It moisturized without feeling greasy.
I didn’t like: the paraben preservatives.

Zirh’s Protect Daily Face Moisturizer is a lightweight face lotion that does a good job at moisturizing without leaving a greasy shine.  It has a light citrus-like fragrance that even those with sensitive noses should find tolerable, if not enjoyable. Avocado oil and Vitamin E moisturize while Allantoin helps to soothe the skin – which makes this an ideal post-shave moisturizer.  Fans of anti-aging products will appreciate the skin regenerating properties of its alpha-hydroxy acid content.  Because this moisturizer lacks significant sun protection, it is a better option for those days spent mainly at home or in the office.

Zirh Aloe Facial Scrub Caulfields Counter Face Mens Grooming Male Skincare

Zirh Aloe Facial Scrub

Zirh Aloe Facial Scrub Mens Grooming Male Skincare Face Texture Caulfield's Counter

Zirh Aloe Facial Scrub (Texture)

Overall Rating: ★★★★☆
Price: $$ ($10-$20) – Available at Zirh, Sephora, Nordstrom, and Grooming Lounge.
Scent: Not-so-subtle sage.
I Liked: the fine grain of the scrub – it felt gentle on my face.  Great value – a little goes a long way.  Effective at removing dirt and dead skin cells.  Ideal for use before shaving.
I didn’t like: the strong scent and paraben preservatives.

Zirh’s Aloe Facial Scrub works very well, especially when used before shaving.  What I really like about this product is how gentle and effective it is at getting rid of dead skin and other surface debris.  Unlike other scrubs which contain larger, rougher grains that can mutilate the face, this exfoliant has the consistency of a thick gel with fine sugar-like granules.  Unless you really enjoy the smell of sage, the scent takes some getting used to.  A 3.4 ounce tube should last you a few months.  Use twice a week to achieve best results.
