Lucky Tiger Face Scrub Ingredients List

Overall Rating: ★★★★
Price: $$ ($10-$20) – Available at Lucky Tiger, Amazon, & Swanson Vitamins.
Scent: citrus with a hint of honey.
I Like: the subtle scent.  Effectively gets rid of dead skin and debris.  Great for before shaving
Not a fan of: the sodium laureth sulfate and BHT ingredients.

Gently exfoliating once or twice a week can help keep your complexion clear.  Face scrubs lift debris and dead skin cells that may be trapped in pores.  Lucky Tiger Face Scrub works particularly well for me before I shave.  The scent is a pleasant, uplifting blend of citrus and honey.  It contains some great natural ingredients including jojoba oil, green tea, hibiscus, borage oil, and honey.  Those with sensitive skin take note: the product’s exfoliating bits are not very fine, so you have to be extra gentle when scrubbing your skin.

Kiehl's Ultimate Man Body Scrub Soap with Ingredients List

Overall Rating: ★★★★
Price: $$ ($10-$20) – Available at Kiehl’s and Nordstrom.
Scent: Refreshing citrus.
I Liked: the scent, its effectiveness at exfoliating, and how long the bar lasted.
I didn’t like: nothing.  However, those with body acne or other skin conditions may want to consider a less-abrasive exfoliating soap or cleanser.

I’m normally not a fan of bar soaps, as most of them typically contain harsh synthetic ingredients that over-dry and irritate the skin.  Kiehl’s Ultimate Man Body Scrub Soap is an exception.  It has an invigorating citrus scent that is masculine, but not overpowering.  The combination of bran, oatmeal, and pumice effectively sloughs away dull, flaky skin.  Because the soap is quite abrasive, I do not recommend using it on the face or on any area of the body with acne.  I was pleasantly surprised at how well the bar held up in the shower.  It didn’t get soft like the majority of the soaps I’ve used.  Spoil yourself by giving this refreshing, exfoliating bar soap a try.

Zirh Aloe Facial Scrub

Zirh Aloe Facial Scrub Mens Grooming Male Skincare Face Texture Caulfield's Counter

Zirh Aloe Facial Scrub (Texture)

Overall Rating: ★★★★☆
Price: $$ ($10-$20) – Available at Zirh, Sephora, Nordstrom, and Grooming Lounge.
Scent: Not-so-subtle sage.
I Liked: the fine grain of the scrub – it felt gentle on my face.  Great value – a little goes a long way.  Effective at removing dirt and dead skin cells.  Ideal for use before shaving.
I didn’t like: the strong scent and paraben preservatives.

Zirh’s Aloe Facial Scrub works very well, especially when used before shaving.  What I really like about this product is how gentle and effective it is at getting rid of dead skin and other surface debris.  Unlike other scrubs which contain larger, rougher grains that can mutilate the face, this exfoliant has the consistency of a thick gel with fine sugar-like granules.  Unless you really enjoy the smell of sage, the scent takes some getting used to.  A 3.4 ounce tube should last you a few months.  Use twice a week to achieve best results.

How to Prep, Shave, and Soothe Your Handsome Face Caulfields Counter

  • Properly preparing your face by washing with warm water and a gentle face wash can help you achieve a smoother shave.  Washing your face removes the dirt and debris that can hinder the glide of your razor.  Using a gentle face scrub twice a week will optimize the shaving experience.
  • When using shave cream, start by applying to the areas with toughest beard growth such as the chin.  This gives the cream more time to penetrate and soften the beard.
  • Nothing can hurt your face more than using a worn-out razor.  Switch out your blade(s) the moment you notice your razor becoming dull.  Signs include increased post-shave irritation/razor burn and frequent cuts.
  • Always moisturize and condition your face with an alcohol-free aftershave balm or lotion. Don’t skimp in this department – one layer is usually not enough.  Continue to apply until any sign of discomfort or irritation is gone and your face is properly moisturized.
  • If you shower after you shave, be sure to moisturize again after showering.
